Astoria Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation is looking for caring and energetic hospitality aids to join our team.
This position is great for someone looking to break into the healthcare field.
Hospitality aids assist the nursing department by ensuring that all needs of the residents and guests are met. This position will report to Charge Nurse, ADON, DON, or Administrator to ensure the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.
Job responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Answers signal lights to determine resident needs.
- Distributes linens, makes beds.
- Serves and collects food trays, performs tray monitor to those residents who are alert and do not require assistance.
- Passes fluids, nourishments to residents who do not require assistance.
- Transports residents to meals and activities, using wheelchair or wheeled cart.
- Provides non-resident care including but not limited to:
- Cleans resident rooms/closets/drawers.
- Empties soiled linen and garbage carts.
- Washing wheelchairs.
- Cleaning soiled utility areas.
- Cleaning shower and whirlpool rooms.
- Cleaning kitchen areas on the nursing unit.
- Complete the personal inventory sheet with all admissions.
- Report all accidents and incidents immediately to the charge nurse.
Performs other duties assigned.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Qualifications
- Demonstrates interest and/or knowledge in caring for the ill, disabled, and elderly. Must be able to deal tactfully with customers, family members, visitors, personnel etc.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Must be personable, enthusiastic, and compassionate.
- Must be able to perform multi-tasks effectively and efficiently.
